Installing 32/64 bit EPMA on Windows to work with other services running in Linux

I have installed Hyperion Planning v 11.1.2.3 in Linux x-86 environment. I have to install the EPMA dimension serviced on windows 2008R2 server, which is 64-bit OS. Oracle support advised me to install only 32-bit version of EPM (dimension services - just one component of EPMA services) because it has to talk to 32-bit OS on Linux where rest of the services are running.

The installer for 32-bit EPM is failing because it is looking for AMD64 version of jre. If I modify the POSTED_JAVA to look for win32 java, the pre-installation checks fails.

Has anyone addresses similar issue successfully?
