HA for EM 12.1.0.3: Can virtual nodes do the job for the Oracle Management Server?
Hello:
I'm investigating an active/active HA setup for EM 12.1.0.3. The majority of our Oracle hardware runs Linux x86-64 (rhel 5 and 6), and most of these nodes are dedicated to Oracle Clusters (11.2.0.4). HA for the EM repository is covered now by RAC.
My questions are about HA for the OMS and WLS components. Does HA for these work if they are installed on virtual nodes? I will still acquire a server load balancer, but getting more physical nodes for Oracle will be a tough sell. They will consider virtual nodes. Of course, I have no experience with these yet, but if the OMS and WLS are supported on virtual nodes, I am happy to learn whatever I need to get them in place.
