R42800 failure is losing G batch COGS data

We are running JDEdwards EnterpriseOne version 9.0 on the AS400.  We are processing sales through R42800 during the night and occasionally the job does not finish.  It just seems to stop processing anything.  (We are researching the issue that is causing the job to hang up and my question is not about that issue.)  When we discover that the job has not finished, we end the job and then resubmit it. It appears to just pick up where it left off.  We thought in the past that everything was fine but we have recently discovered that we are missing some data.
