log file sync times on ASM on SAN are slow

Please don't tell me to move redo logs to faster disks or to commit more often.    I have two systems that are behaving radically differently.

Sever  Dell R820 
2.6.39-400.210.2.el6uek.x86_64
Oracle 11.2.0.4
The storage is a Hitachi AMS-2100

I have two identical Linux systems that I've just built.   One will be prod and one will be test.  It is expected that they are functionally equivalent.  

The prod server has dedicated SAN.  The test server shares it's SAN with some virtual servers.

I'm running performance testing by pumping in identical data into both databases.   I'll post the log file sync and log file parallel wait events from AWR.
