Employee not processed in payroll

I'm having trouble pulling a single employee into a payroll run.   I've seen in the past where conflicts in certain date fields can cause this issue.  However, I can't seem to find the reference to issue.  I believe I saw the answer in this forum.   I believe it relates to date in current job and payroll start dates.   Has anyone seen this issue.
