Dynamic Configuration without a BOM Model

I am a newbie to Oracle Configurator and wanted to know if it's possible to create a configuration of multiple items dynamically into a Configurator wihtout a Pre-defined BOM Model. Our's is a fabric,furniture distributor business and the scenario we have is when we enter a furniture order in OM , we need the ability to dynamically configure the fabric that goes onto the furniture. The fabric can be a list of thousands of fabric patterns. We do not want to configure the furniture and the various combinations of fabrics into a pre-defined BOM Model before we publishe the same to Configurator. We want
