SMTP error when Changing GRE

Hi all,

On one of our test environments, I have to change the GRE of an employee which is located inside the key flexfield placed under the statutory information tab of the assignment form. After choosing either Update or Correction mode, I encounter the error below:

ORA-20000: Unable to send mail: ORA-29279: SMTP permanent error: 550 #.#.# payroll@XXX.com... Relaying denied. IP name lookup failed [###.##.##.##]

ORA-06512: at "APPS.PERALLASSIGNMENTSF_290U_DYT", line 69

ORA-04088: error during execution of trigger 'APPS.PERALLASSIGNMENTSF_290U_DYT'

ORA-06512: at "APPS.PER_ASSIGNMENTS_F_PKG", line 1480

Can anyone tell me how I can avoid this error so that I would be able to change the GRE without sending an email? I am only testing in our test environment. I believe we just have to disable or turn off something.
