File upload fails using "intermediate" option ...

We are attempting to upload documents using the "intermediate" option and are receiving the following message:

Upload start time Mon Feb 03 14:14:43 PST 2014

------------------------------

Error parsing XML response

Total files uploaded (including reference files): 0

Upload end time Mon Feb 03 14:14:44 PST 2014

------------------------------

After receiving this message, we click the "Close" button and are presented with a popup that has the following message:

Connection to Unifier failed.

There does not appear to be any errors in the Unifier.log file.

Has anyone experienced this issue, or better yet resolved it? Any assitance would be greatly appreciated.

Environment

Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise

Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2
