Do i need to advance the project for the object built and deployed after completed

Hi,  normally if i undergo a update package build and deploy,,it will be automatically put into OMW default project....Let's say i had finished the package build and deploy, do i need to advance the project? Say i went for 2 different environments Eg. PY and PD

pls advice...
