Weblogic health monitoring

On a couple of occasions we have seen persistent locked threads that have required a restart to remove. It would have been good to receive an alert as we are not often in the WLS admin console. I see on the web various WLST & JMX solutions, and was wondering if anyone had implemented any health monitoring / alert solution for a Agile WLS cluster.

Cook book guide would be fantastic ;-)
