UEK, k-splice/uptrack, and VMware-provided vmxnet3 driver
We spent months troubleshooting poor performance of Oracle Linux guest VMs running on ESXi 5.1 where the images lived on a NetApp NAS (NFS exports to VMware datastores) with additional direct exports to guest VMs. At the end of it all VMware pointed us to using their latest vmxnet3 driver provided through their latest VMtools for Linux. These guest VMs are a mix of Oracle Linux 5 and Oracle Linux 6 systems, using UEK (X86_64). These were enrolled in k-splice.
