Moving /var/tmp to non root pool

on Solaris 11, Can one move /var/tmp only to another zpool outside of root pool? Again this is due to fact that product writes to this folder and takes a lot of space . Standard root pool disks are smaller in size.

If it can be moved, any impact  for future patching or upgrades on Solaris 11 ?
