Are account segments and ccid both validated in Autoinvoice?

We have R12.1.3 financials including AR.  The functional users are asking about account validation occurring in Auto Invoice.   Are account segments and ccid’s or only CCID’s being validated in Auto Invoice?  Does anyone know the answer to this or know where I can find the answer.
