How to diagnose the IO slowness pertaining to SAN problem

The overall performance of the Database was slow on specific time .

Later it was diagnosed by storage team that the issue was due to IO blips on the SAN array .

Is there any way  (Waiting events , statistics, OS utilities ( Linux ) , scripts etc ) to pin point the SAN  realted issues ?

Can you please share your experience , input , and ideas ?
