Support for Haz Attributes

We are in need of storing several attributes to support hazardous product shipments through a 3PL (FedEx).  Some of these attributes have a logical home in the Inventory Item Master (i.e. UN Number and Class).  Are you aware of a place to store the other values - Packing Group (typically a I, II, III type value) and Packing Instructions?  I found an Oracle Transportation Management white paper for Kewill Flagship integration that indicates the Packing Group can be retrieve from OTM.  I do not see where this is possible.  Thanks for any assistance.
