Running HFM with linux foundation server?

Hi, I am in a dev environment running HFM (on windows of course) against a linux foundation server.  Does anyone have an opinion on how smart this is to do?  I would like to integrate it with my existing planning and essbase environments, which run on linux.  With recent problems I have been having I wonder if I shouldn't change my plan and install a second foundation server on windows just for HFM.  Any thoughts? Thanks very much.
