Document Manager Permissions

Is there a way to pull in pre-defined document folder permissions into a project?  We are implementing a new folder structure (no previous one) and have identified the permissions in the Shell Template location.  Is there a way to 'pull' those permissions into a project without having to go into each individual project and assign the permissions to each folder / folder structure?
