R12.1.3 Unable to disable a PHONE_LINE_TYPE

I am trying to "disable" a  PHONE_LINE_TYPE under receivables look up but the system says cannot uncheck "Enable".  Is there a trick to disabling a  PHONE_LINE_TYPE, as we do not wish to have "pager" as an option in the LOV.
