How do I hide Buttons on Detail Pages

When we originally launched our CRM On Demand two years ago, the consultants we used used Java Script in custom web applets to hide the Copy and Delete buttons on the Detail Pages of the Account and Opportunities.  We were just patched to version 024.008.001 and the java script in these web applets are now causing the related information tabs to just show as 'Processing' whenever a user tries to open up a related information section.  Does anyone know how to effectively remove buttons from the detail pages?  Thank you, Steve
