Open UI Desktop Mode application on Mobile

We have upgraded our application to 8.1.1.11.3 and cloned the existing object manager (eCommunications) to have Open UI version. We now have one HI version and one Open UI version. We can not use the Siebel Mobile Application as it has extra cost as well as there is no eCommunication object manager curently supported by Siebel Mobile Connected application.

As Open UI gives browser as well as platform independence; can we use the desktop version of Open UI application on the mobile device (Ipad)? I understand that the look and feel will not be device specific but will be same as desktop; hence wanted to understand :-
