R2.1.3 : Patching strategy for EBS R12 with Configuration in DMZ

Hello,

After applying RUP6 to Internal Middle Tier (internal Server)

iRec selfservice page on Middle Tier for external users was giving following error:

"You have encountered an unexpected error. Please contact the System  Administrator for assistance."

Enabling diagnostics has pointed us to file - class which was missing on (ext server)  server.

RUP6 has made changes/replaced/added many files on the internal server.

Our question is - in case of configuration like ours - should the patches , ie RUP6 and any others be applied to both servers.

Or will there be conflict as they share common  database?
