What the heck is ZSTATD?

My question is simple: What is this /opt/sun/xvm/lib/zstat/zstatd process running on my Solaris 10 systems?


I can't find a single thing about it. Nothing in man pages. Nothing online.


We get alarms on our monitoring system that it's not running. We believe that it is hogging memory and swap on one system for sure.


So, what is  it? Can it be safely restarted or even shut down permanently?
