Unable to Install Oracle Examples on Existing 11.2.0.2 Home on AIX 6.1

I am unable to install the examples on an existing Oracle 11.2.0.2 home running on AIX 6.1 (64-bit).

I am getting the following errors:

[INS-32025] The chosen installation conflicts with software already installed in the given Oracle home.

[INS-52001] Oracle Database Examples can only be installed into an existing Oracle Home.

The ORACLE_BASE is: /oracle/Oracle11

The ORACLE_HOME is: /oracle/Oracle11/11202

I have looked into Doc ID 1325924.1 and it does not apply here as there is no trailing slash on either the ORACLE_BASE or ORACLE_HOME directory in the GUI installer, nor in the environment variable at the OS level.
