Transporation - Rate contracts

Hi Ruxandra / Other concerned

I have this following Scenario.

  • Have Valid two Rate contracts , one expires by Feb 28th 2014 and another Valid contract 1st March is in place in the routing entries-F4950.
  • Sales order is made on 20th Feb 2014 with Promise delivery on Feb 27th.  But assume the order actually shipped on March. User is expecting Rate contract should pick as per "ACtual ship date". I was referring a white paper which shows Rate contract works as per promise delivery and actual ship date and advised to match as per promise delivery .   But in real business scenario Ship confirmation person don't look at promise delivery. There could be hundreds of orders this way.  What is the best way system to read valid contract without involving user to manually update the
