Sun Sparc T4-2

I have 7 new Sun Sparc T4-2's. each one has 4 network ports. Net0-Net3.  I have configured Net0/Net1 and Net2.  Yet all 7 T4's has a Net4 that is plumed and has a 169.254.xx.xx

address. ( I know what the 169.254.xx.xx is ) But why is it there if I didn't configure a Net4 ?
