Planning Redo Log File Block Size

Hello,

With 11gR2, it is now possible to change the Block Size of Redo Log files at the time of creation. Typically the redo log file block size defaults to the physical sector size. It was recommended earlier to set the block size of the filesystem on which redo logs will be created to match the sector size, ie 512B. But now with larger sector size like 4096B, it is no longer required to change the filesystem blocksize to 512B, or even change the redo log file block size to 512B.

Does anyone have any experience with redo logs on large sector size disks, in terms of disk space wastage or performance? Are there any good guidelines to follow now that the underlying storage have larger sector size?
