Cant Log In from TOAD as sys but can log in from command line as sys. Can Log In from TOAS as normal

Hi All,

I am preparing a database (Oracle 9.2 on HP UX) for a restore and can log in to it from the command line as "sys/<pwd> as sysdba", but cannot login from TOAD.

However, I can login to this database from TOAD as a  normal user, but when I try to login from TOAD as sys/<pwd> using the same connect string, I cant log in. 'Invalid password'
