Table Documentation

Where does one find documentation on tables such as all of the columns within a table, the field (column) sizes, if the field is numeric, string, etc.  I've tried searching for one table or document that lists all that information without success.  Data Dictionary doesn't provide the details, nor does Cross Reference.
