Multi-Reporting Currency

Has anyone utilized a USD (US Dollar) functional currency for their General Ledger and operated an Inventory Organization in Germany with transactions in Euros?

We are wanting to expand our Oracle EBS system to our Germany subsidiary and are using one Ledger (USD) and have created an Inventory Org for our Germany location.  Multi-currency is set up.

Will we be GAAP or German GAAP compliant utilizing Oracle this way?

I am an IT guy, not an accountant so I'm looking for someone else who has done this before I present it to accounting.

I did notice that the cost for the items in the new inventory org will be treated as USD for transactions.
