SYSLOG Parameter

Hi,

I am wondering what is the advantage of using this parameter as GG messages are already written to the ggserror.log file anyway. Our Sys admin is complaining that it is clogging up with their messages in /var/log/messages.  Please provide some insights on it..  Can we direct it to another location from default?
