i will create attendance system , i have some questions

1- i have a column that has data like 1/1/2014 07:59:53 what is the best datatype for this column ?

2- i have a column in time table that start from 08:00 and end at 16:00 what is the best datatype for this column ? and i will compare between 1/1/2014 07:59:53 and start 08:00, how i compare ?
