ASCP - Replenish before expiry?

MRP will calculate planned orders to replenish expired lots at the date of expiry.  Is there a way to move in this date so that MRP will calculate an earlier replenishment of soon-to-expire materials?  I've looked into simulation sets as a way to manipulate Minimum Remaining Shelf Life, but this only seems to influence inventory before it is shipped to a foreign market.  Our concern is over inventory that does not sell by a a set period before the printed expiration date.  A business requirement requires us to keep the expiry date in ERP the same as what is printed
