"Journal Import" performance issue - gone from taking 7 minutes to 14 hours!

Hi,

We are running R12.1.3

We have a month end payroll process, which populates the GL_INTERFACE table with lots of data.

We then run "Program - Import Journals" to import the data into GL.

Last month there were 140,000 rows of data to import, and the spawned "Journal Import" job ran in 7 minutes.

This month, there were 110,000 rows to import, and:

1. The job first ran for 90 minutes then errored with:

ORA-01555: snapshot too old: rollback segment number 64 with name "_SY

SHRD0014: GLLEZL - process exiting with failure.

2. We ran the job out of hours, and it ran for 11 hours, completed with Warning because a few GL codes were inactive. We made them active again, and resubmitted the job.
