Flex assets - generic asset attributes?

edited Jun 25, 2018 3:23PM in Oracle WebCenter Sites (MOSC) 2 commentsAnswered ✓

Is it not possible to have generic asset type attributes on a flex asset?

When creating a new flex attribute, as soon as you select asset as the attribute type it wants you to also choose a specific asset type. Despite this list containing both basic and flex assets, there doesn't seem to be any kind of generic 'all/any' type in the dropdown.

I notice the Page basic asset type has a generic asset association (contentList1 for example) which allows all types of asset. Would this be the way to go with flex assets too? They appear to allow associations. Anything I'd need to watch out for if going this route? I'm assuming I'd need to access the association in a different manner to the flex attributes (e.g. assetset:getattributevalues wouldn't work)?

Howdy, Stranger!
