Is there a way to remove a column from the columns displayed pick applet? ie not let users remove it

We have a classification column on our action/activity list applets that MUST be displayed at all times, some users have cleverly removed it/moved it so that it is not displayed using the column displayed popup applet.  We would like to keep the columns displayed selections, as the users do require some level of customization. 

So the question is there a way to remove the list column "Classification" field "Classification", from the columns displayed applet?  OR is there a way to not allow the removal of that column?
