Could we use SSSE without enabling WebDAV on the exchange server?

We have a requirement to enable SSSE sync in our Environment. We have installed a new Siebel Serer with SSSE components enabled and connected to Exchnage 2007. Could we use SSSE without enabling WebDAV on the exchange server?
