compensation processing of automation tasks in suspended state

if an automation task is in suspended state and a revision order is received, how is this task compensated? if as part of the revision it is determined that this task is no longer required, will the task be re-executed in undo mode even if it is currently in suspended state (assuming that the option is set to 'undo this task when no longer required' )
