EBS patching on ODA Virtualized configuration

We are looking at the ODA for EBS. I am looking for information on how it supports EBS in the Virtualized configuration.  Is it supported to apply the pre-req patches for 11.2.0.3 in the ODA_BASE home along with the "Examples CD' installation?
