"Message" column in the WMS Warehouse Control Board

I noticed there is a column titled "Message" in the WMS Control Board.  Does anyone know how this column would get populated? Maybe this column is only populated for error messages.  But I am hoping it could be used to provide a miscellaneous message about the task.  For example, could we use the "Message" column to create a message that says 'Notify B. Miller when this task is complete' or something like that.
