Is it possible to modify Data Source ID SSR_TSRPT_DS?

Hi there!  I'm currently modifying our XML Transcript template and would like to add data from the STDNT_ADVR_HIST table to our (unofficial) transcript (namely student advisor names).  However, student advisor data is not included in the delivered template's SSR_TSRPT_DS data source. Is it possible to modify the delivered data source to include student advisor data?  If so, how?

Note: I have tried creating a new data source ID that pulls from the STDNT_ADVR_HIST table and have loaded the data into the XML template.  However, when generating transcript reports, no advisor data appears.
