changing the oracle user soft nproc from 2048 to 4096; do i have to stop/restart anything?

we had a runaway process that consumed too many oracle processes; we identified and fixed that looping process;  we discovered that the soft nproc was 2048; so we did chage that to 4096.  but we did not stop oracle; listener, or agent.... Do we need to restart database; listener for that for the change from 2048 to 4096 to take effect?  we are running linux Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.3
