Address Book Records

Is there a way in A9.2.1 to keep an address book record in the system so that historical transactions will still contain a name, etc. but make that address book number incapable of being used for anything by anyone at any time in a future transaction.

I know in the Address Book Control Revisions you can flag to Hold AP, Hold Purchase Orders or Hold Receipts/PO and on the AR side Hold Invoides, Hold Sales Order, Hold Contract Bill, Hold Service Warant. Hold Property Mgmt, and Hold Service Billing, however I am looking for the number to not be used in the first place.
