How do system calculate employee rate when a markup percentage is entered under rate schedule

Hi Experts,

We have an indirect project against which an employee had entered his time cards.

When we ran the "PRC: Distribute labor costs" for this project, in the labor cost exception report it is showing the rejection reason as "Missing cost rate."

When I checked the rate schedule for a rate for this employee, I found that on 17-FEB-2014, there is a markup percentage of 60.78 added for this employee. I am not sure how system will calculate the rate based on markup percentage.

Can anybody here explain me with example how the system is going to calculate the rate when a markup percentage is added in the rate schedule window.
