Primary key consideration

One of the main reasons Goldengate recommends PK's is that only that column would be logged and thus smaller trail files.

But in case we configure CDR(i.e GETBEFORECOLS and COMPARECOLS say for all columns), isnt the purpose defeated. It will log all the columns whether or not it has a primary key now right?

Or am I missing something here.
