Upgrading Java to 7u51 on EBS 12.1.3

I have multiple questions in regards to upgrading Java on our EBS 12.1.3 instances on our Linux 5.10 version 64 bit platform 

1. What is the best all inclusive document to follow for upgrading Java to 7u51 on EBS 12.1.3?  (On the applicaiton tier we currently have version 1.6.0_45-b06 and looking to go to 7u51.)

2. I'm looking at Doc ID 1467892.1

3. Is it a requirement to also upgrade java on the EBS 11.2.0.3 DB at the same time?

4. I have downloaded JDK 7u51 versus the Server JRE.  Is that the best option to install?
