Running Oracle 11.2.0.1.0 - 64bit and having the same issue identified by patch 7703927

hi all,

I hope this is the correct place to raise this thread.

I have an old windows application using OCI to connect to an 11.2.0.1.0 database.  A while ago we turned on password expiry and now users are unable to connect to the db.  We are seeing exactly the same symptoms as fixed by this patch -

7703927: OCILOGON2 RETURNS INVALID SERVICE CONTEXT HANDLE WHEN PASSWORD IN GRACE PERIOD

So my question is - should I try to install the patch or is this pointless as we are already past the level at which it should be applied (11.1)?

And then I guess my next question is - why am I still seeing this behaviour with 11.2?
