Can I change the compatible parameter from 11.2.0 to 11.1.0.0.0

Hi,

During one the testing process, I tried to change the compatible parameter to 11.2.0 and bounced the db and its effective now.

Can I now revert back to the comaptible settings of 11.1.0.0.0 and bounce the db. Would there be any issue?

I do not have a backup.

I know setting the compatible parameter to 10.x.x.x is not feasible but I want to check if this limitation exists with same major release number

of db like 11g but with different releases like R1(11.1.0.x), R2 ( 11.2.0.x)

Also one simple question.

Can any db user run alter system command to modify the db parameters in spfile?
