10.2.0.4 ASM Reporting Policy Violation "Disk Group contains disks of significantly different sizes"

Our FRA disk group within ASM is 7TB in total and is made up of 6x1TB disks and 2x500GB totalling 7GB.

A policy violation is being reported - "Disk Group contains disks of significantly different sizes".

We are utilising External Redundancy and not utilising ASM for Disk Mirroring so am I correct in thinking this violation is not much of an issue if external redundancy is being used as the smaller disks are not being mirrored by ASM.
