Issue with ap_invoice_distributions_all after R12 upgrade

We are in the process of upgrading from 11i to R12.  In 11i we have an invoice with 3000+ distribution lines and over a million related records in ap_chrg_allocations_all.  After upgrade to R12 we now see the 3000+ records in ap_invoice_lines_all and the million plus records have moved to ap_invoice_distributions_all.  This is a big issue for us as not only is the upgrade taking a long time, but we also are experiencing "hanging" issues with the Invoice Workbench.

Has anyone experienced similar issues?  How can we address this issue before going live with R12?  Please advise.
