A Valuable Book - Managing Multimedia and Unstructured Data in the Oracle Database

Marcelle Kratochvil, an experienced Oracle Database administrator and developer, CTO of Piction, and long time Oracle beta tester, has written a book focused on managing multimedia and unstructured data in Oracle Database: "Managing Multimedia and Unstructured Data in the Oracle Database". Marcelle's book is written in simple terms and is complete with screenshots, step-by-step examples, and exercises.

The book begins with a definition of unstructured data, describes how to store multimedia data in Oracle Database, and gives good arguments and reasons for storing unstructured data in the database.

Marcelle goes on to cover topics such as the multimedia warehouse and how to search it, different load and delivery techniques for multimedia data, various techniques for creating a multimedia database, and how to tune the database when storing multimedia data.
